Hello, I love you. Won't you tell me your name?

I'm taking roll.

I'm curious: who is reading this? I think it's important to know, for example, if my inquisitive neighbor has read about herself. What about questionable doctrine lady? What about Carly and Marcy?

If you would, just this once, identify yourself in the comments, I would be most appreciative. Friends, strangers, familial relations, lurkers, stalkers, one and all, please come forward. Make yourself known.

You can say "here" or "present" or recount what book you are currently reading or your favorite lyric from your favorite song from The Doors. Anything you want to say. Just say something.

Ready? Go.

I read often. And I am a Peace Frog fan. Blood screams the pain as they chop off her fingers! It's the coolest part.

I am more confused than ever. Aren't you?

Or...

Your fingers weave quick minarets
Speak in secret alphabets

Or...

Before I sink into the big sleep
I want to hear I want to hear
The scream of the butterfly

Sorry to ruin your tally by posting twice.

Just finished a book last night, The Kite Runner. It was a little cliche, but an enjoyable quick read. Our book club is meeting next week...

Yo!
And I don't have a favorite lyrical line from the Doors, because the only version of Doors music I own happens the be as interpreted by George Winston.

I'm here!

Right now I'm reading:
"Life and Death in Shanghai" by Nien Cheng

My favorite Doors lyrics are actually from "Hello, I Love You" because they always made me feel like a powerful woman when I hear them:

"She holds her head so high
Like a statue in the sky
Her arms are wicked, and her legs are long
When she moves my brain screams out this song. . ."

"Riders on the Storm" always cracks me up because the rhymes are all so forced. These are my absolute favorites because they are so RANDOM:

"There's a killer on the road
His brain is squirmin' like a toad
Take a long holiday
And let your children play"

I'm still trying to figure out some of the connections around here...

oh yeah, I'm currently reading "Founding Mothers" by Cokie Roberts.
Usually you can't get a feel for a blog until your read several entries. Not this one, I was hooked immediately when I read your touching story about showing recent converts some unconditional love, sound advice and good old-fashioned hoochy shirts.

That's the way to spread the Gospel, Sister!

hoochy shirts....what was the word you used? Boobitized?

Thank y'all for your participation.

Ed--Where do you dig to?
Bek and Lorien--I really don't know anyone, so don't try too hard to figure out the connections.
Mom--You win for the most entertaining comment.

Hi, I'm your husband. I've been lurking, stalking, and admiring right here in the open. "Come on baby, light my fire." Isn't that the obvious line?

I read. I read! I love yo' blog. I've just been flying under the radar lately since I have been away from Tucson. When will we meet at Ikea?

Hi Emily, It's Elinor in Salt Lake. I like to read, even if I don't always comment. I've discovered I was born in a different century, a different world, but hey, as a writer, it is okay to explore the minds of others. You write well. Last book I reaad was Alan's 1949-51 missionary letters to and from Australia which we put inot a binder, in vinyl slip in envelopes. Lots of history and we love re-doing his mission in those days of getting shown the gate, of being homesick not for Canada but for Adelaide, and knowing all that dame later, musing on the events of small happenings that would bring big things. I was 14 going on 15 years old, he was 23. Little did we dream what events would eventually give us 50 years together. A faithful reader.

Oops, a few typos. I meant to say we put the letters into a binder. I also know how to spell read. Actually, we're still reading these interesting tidbits of history, so I wasn't entirely truthful when I said I'd read it all or listened as Alan read it.

Last book I read all the way through and all by myself was Joseph Smith, the Man and Seer by Hyrum Andrus. Before that it was the White Indian Boy, 1919 edition.

oh, hey, sorry, late but here. You're very funny.

I'm late too. Just stumbled onto your blog, but I'm Lorien's neighbor and have read Bek's & Lisa Clark's blogs lots of times. No song lyrics here--my mom brain doesn't retain things like that anymore.

Oh, I'm so flattered. I lurk on yours, too, Alice. Elasticwaistbandlady, Julie, everyone, welcome!

I lurk.

I hate The Doors.

There are ten books patiently waiting for me to finish the BofM.

I'm extremely late but at least I can make it an uneven 35.

I lurk now and then. There seems to have been a blog explosion in the past year or so and it's hard to keep up with the interesting ones. But I always enjoy, and I must say...I'm quite impressed by your feedback and am scared to do the same roll call on my own. What if nobody's really there...?

Keep blogging. We're reading!

I lurk too--or too lazy to comment. I am related to one of your biggest fans and am always confused when you comment on hers (Suzie's)--I see your name and have to say, "Hey, I didn't say that"
