Here's hoping

Today I was mean and grumpy and irritable and fed-up (when I wasn't being long-suffering, encouraging, patient, and attentive, because let's be honest, there was some of that, too) and I kept thinking about what Diana used to say all the time to her sister Eliza when they were growing up: "I love you, but I don't like you." Mostly directed (but not spoken aloud) to my kids.

Here's hoping for a new week filled with liking my cheerful, non-teething, obedient, loving, neat and responsible children!

emily! I have been thinking that very phrase 'i love you but i don't like you' about every single person in my family (except major) all week long! i love that you acknowlege that there was kindness, long suffering, patience etc. too because sometimes i just see my rotten ways and forget that i sprinkle it with goodness every now and again. i should remember that sometimes. thanks for the reminder and here's to a new week. wish us luck.

I'm laughing about the "rats" from Milo and Owen. Emily, how dare you turn off the TV so your kids could do their homework! What was poor Milo to do? So funny! AG

I've said that to Trav on many occasions, usually it just makes him laugh. Love that picture of you guys did you realize the blonder half of your family is on one side and the brunette on the other?

Oh Emily, I'm so with you on this one. Derrick's been out of town for two weeks and I've been Martyr of the Year. Who knew how long-suffering I could be through such trials and tribulations? Really, the whole world should feel sorry for me. Love the way you word things. Wish you better luck this week. And, wish you were my neighbor.
