Somebody took pictures of an event in the Craig household (and her name is Abby), so I present to you a photographic account of Miss Norah's rainbow birthday party
That birthday party looks magical. And I agree, I can't believe how big Calvin is! Beautiful pics. The last and 2nd from last are my favorites.

The party looks like it was splendid!! I love the rainbow balloons, the rainbow cake, the rainbow in the street! Darling ideas, all. I'm sad I wasn't there. I'm sure Miss Jill loved being there-she adores Norah. The photos are great, Abby! I'll be looking at them for days. AG
I love your house! I need to come visit you when we come back to the states. I miss your smile!!!

I love when abby does photographic accountings of beautiful things. and your kids (and that party) are beautiful things! and you too, emily, are radiant. love to you and happy birthday to a sweet 4 year old!
Hmm, what have I done to convince my family that I have zero domestic abilities ("Oh, Steve! This meal is so wonderful!") so that you automatically assume that someone else made the cake for my daughter's birthday party? Really, now. I'm going to pretend to not be offended.
Emily I'm so impressed, everything looks so great and like such a fun party! I can't even show these pictures to Hallie or she'll kill me for not taking her. Sorry, Saturday was a little crazy but we'll be there Sunday for sure.
Happy Birthday Norah!! What a rainbow of colorful fun birthday! We have been talking about Norah near constantly around here. Sophie was completely distraught and kept asking, "when are we going to drive over for Norah's Birthday party?" Darn this separation stuff! Would you available to play if I came up for a Fall Break visit in a couple weeks?
oh my gosh, you are the cutest mom! What great ideas for a rainbow birthday party!! Norah is one lucky girl. And I cannot believe how big Calvin is! Is he almost a year?
Norah told me today about her rainbow birthday party. Looks like everybody had a great time. It all looks spectacular! My mouth is watering for some of the rainbow cake.
If you are completely unprepared in (almost) every way to birth your child due to the fact that your body does not really do spontaneous labor and you thought you had a good two weeks to worry about details and thus {house is a mess haven't begun to wash or sort baby clothes no newborn diapers ...or bouncy seat ...or swing ...or nursing pads ...or bassinet/port-a-crib for your room ...or pacifiers packed hospital bag is but a distant dream child's big oral presentation on William Clark is not ready to go baby name is not solidified neighbor kids are coming over tomorrow for a playdate not mentally geared up to go drugfree have tickets to Friday night's football game haven't registered with the hospital no groceries in the house} BUT, you're emotionally and physically ready to not be pregnant anymore and to meet this new precious babe and he has joyously turned his little cute self around so he is head-down after all the fuss about being breech, AND, you tiredly say
For me, one of the favorable things about Barack Obama is that he's black. Half black, but black nonetheless. I've heard a lot of hullabaloo -- especially in the media -- that we really ought not let race play a factor in this election. Geraldine Ferraro was lambasted for suggesting that Obama's race was to his advantage in beating Clinton. But I agreed with her, as far as I understood her comments correctly. His ethnicity makes me more inclined to vote for him. If we don't elect a black president this year, it will be a very, very long time before we ever elect a black president. Or a Chinese-American president, or a Jewish president, or a Mormon president and I could go on. The black cultural things about Obama make some people very nervous: his African-American church, for example, or the racially-charged thesis that his wife supposedly wrote at Princeton, or was it Yale? 1 There are way too many people, of all political parties, in this country who harbor biases t
