Also, I'm tired of this:

I am a public official and I got caught in my particular brand of illegal sexual deviance (deviation?), so all of a sudden I'm sorry to my family and the public whose trust I betrayed. I'm not sorry, though, until someone outs me.

At least Uncle Larry* came out in full-on denial. He wasn't sorry and he didn't say so.

I think it must be a relief, in some weird way, to be "found out." Your career, your family and friends are done, but you don't have to hide anymore. And actually, this guy's expected to step down, but will he?

Amen Sister!!! I am so fascinated by these types. How can they engage in that type of behavior thinking that they won't get caught? I read today that he was "off the charts brilliant" hmmm apparently not.....If I was off the charts brilliant and I also happened to be governor and was also known as a crusader against corruption, I certainly wouldn't dabble in a prostitution ring.

Not a brilliant guy!..and apparently neither is his wife (yeah, I agree Emily, I'd say "forget your image, reputation and career, I'm not going to help you try to put on some face to try to make it look like..." uh, who knows what they're trying to make it look like? I wouldn't say they're succeeding).

Here's my question: Does the political lifestyle corrupt these guys? Or do ambitious/power hungry men seek political fame and they would have been corrupt no matter what their chosen field?

And yes Emily, is he really "deeply sorry?" or just deeply sorry he got caught?

I'm disgusted by it all, I don't even like his apoligies, he tries to sound profound and act like he's doing us all a favor by owning up and apoligizing. I don't know how his wife stands beside him. I don't think I could do it. He must have offered her a lot of money in the divorce settlement to stand there or something. We live in a very evil world.

On health care reform: I like change. I think HCR has the opportunity to do a lot of good for a lot of people who are otherwise suffering. I'm pro- trying something new to see if it makes things better. If it doesn't make things better, there's always another solution down the road. I'm happy that Obama has done something he set forth to do. I'd like for him to have a successful presidency; I'm pulling for him for that.
