Somebody took pictures of an event in the Craig household (and her name is Abby), so I present to you a photographic account of Miss Norah's rainbow birthday party
That birthday party looks magical. And I agree, I can't believe how big Calvin is! Beautiful pics. The last and 2nd from last are my favorites.

The party looks like it was splendid!! I love the rainbow balloons, the rainbow cake, the rainbow in the street! Darling ideas, all. I'm sad I wasn't there. I'm sure Miss Jill loved being there-she adores Norah. The photos are great, Abby! I'll be looking at them for days. AG
I love your house! I need to come visit you when we come back to the states. I miss your smile!!!

I love when abby does photographic accountings of beautiful things. and your kids (and that party) are beautiful things! and you too, emily, are radiant. love to you and happy birthday to a sweet 4 year old!
Hmm, what have I done to convince my family that I have zero domestic abilities ("Oh, Steve! This meal is so wonderful!") so that you automatically assume that someone else made the cake for my daughter's birthday party? Really, now. I'm going to pretend to not be offended.
Emily I'm so impressed, everything looks so great and like such a fun party! I can't even show these pictures to Hallie or she'll kill me for not taking her. Sorry, Saturday was a little crazy but we'll be there Sunday for sure.
Happy Birthday Norah!! What a rainbow of colorful fun birthday! We have been talking about Norah near constantly around here. Sophie was completely distraught and kept asking, "when are we going to drive over for Norah's Birthday party?" Darn this separation stuff! Would you available to play if I came up for a Fall Break visit in a couple weeks?
oh my gosh, you are the cutest mom! What great ideas for a rainbow birthday party!! Norah is one lucky girl. And I cannot believe how big Calvin is! Is he almost a year?
Norah told me today about her rainbow birthday party. Looks like everybody had a great time. It all looks spectacular! My mouth is watering for some of the rainbow cake.
For me, one of the favorable things about Barack Obama is that he's black. Half black, but black nonetheless. I've heard a lot of hullabaloo -- especially in the media -- that we really ought not let race play a factor in this election. Geraldine Ferraro was lambasted for suggesting that Obama's race was to his advantage in beating Clinton. But I agreed with her, as far as I understood her comments correctly. His ethnicity makes me more inclined to vote for him. If we don't elect a black president this year, it will be a very, very long time before we ever elect a black president. Or a Chinese-American president, or a Jewish president, or a Mormon president and I could go on. The black cultural things about Obama make some people very nervous: his African-American church, for example, or the racially-charged thesis that his wife supposedly wrote at Princeton, or was it Yale? 1 There are way too many people, of all political parties, in this country who harbor biases t...
Last night while reading in bed, I developed a hankering for sweets: specifically, cookies or cake. Almost enough to get out of bed and make something. So I said, "Steve, I really want some cake. Or a cookie. Almost enough to get out of bed and make something." Then I added, "Why don't you call the Fattalehs and ask them if they have any cookies at their house." In very uncharacteristic fashion, my husband picked up his phone and asked, "What's the number?" I told him and he dialed something else and got the wrong number, and then I told him again and he dialed right the second time. He then got David on the phone and asked if they had anything sweet that we could come get because I felt like eating something sweet. Jami the hero always has delicious offerings at her house that she has made and that she is willing to magnanimously share with others, so David the hero said, "We do! We have brownies and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. We'll ...
